“Products priced” is how many products each dealer publishes a price for, out of everything priced by at least one dealer we track. The two figures beside it are measured across every one of those products the dealer has in stock with a wire price: “cheapest on” counts how often it was the lowest of the dealers publishing that product, and “typical premium” is its median over spot. On a product only one dealer stocks, that dealer is the cheapest by default. The directory is alphabetical: it is not a ranking, and neither figure says how good a dealer is.

How we compare bullion dealers

Every dealer, priced on the same product

A dealer only earns a place here by publishing prices we can read and compare. We then put the same coin or bar in front of all of them, so what you see is one product across the whole field rather than each dealer’s own selection.

What the numbers on each dealer mean

For every dealer we show how many of a fixed set of widely stocked products it publishes a price for, how often that price is the lowest of the dealers publishing the same product, and the premium over spot it typically charges. The figures come from the same live prices as the product pages — nothing here is a score we assigned — but they describe that comparison set, not the whole market: a dealer can be cheapest here and dearer on something we do not yet track.

Order, and why it is alphabetical

Dealers are listed A to Z, never ranked. Ranking dealers on a directory page would be an editorial judgement, and the price comparison already answers the only question that matters on any given product: who is cheapest for this one, today.
