About this product

Expand your voluntary local currency holdings with the 1/4 California Goldback 1/4000 oz 24K Gold Foil Aurum Note. Produced using proprietary vacuum-deposition technology, each note places precisely 1/4000 troy ounce (0.25 Goldbacks) of pure .9999 fine 24-karat gold between durable layers of protective polyester film. Featuring vibrant, full-color original artwork that celebrates California’s rich historical heritage, the 1/4 Goldback note provides a highly functional, fractional gold piece for local bartering, micro-denominated gold accumulation, and specialized state currency collection.

Product Features:

  • Contains 1/4000 troy oz of 24K gold
  • Face value of 1/4 California Goldback
  • Hidden UV-reactive design elements
  • Advanced security features to help prevent counterfeiting
  • Obverse: Depicts an artistic representation of the virtue of Justice within the stunning landscape of Yosemite National Park, surrounded by California poppies and California dogface butterflies. The design symbolizes fairness, equality, and the enduring spirit of the Golden State, with hidden UV-reactive details adding both beauty and security.
  • Reverse: Displays a mirrored version of the obverse artwork, creating an additional security feature while preserving the intricate details of the original design.
History & Significance of the Goldback Program

Launched as an innovative voluntary local currency system, Goldbacks permit small-denomination everyday purchases backed directly by physical precious metal. Following the success of initial state series in Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, and New Hampshire, the California Goldback series introduces an accessible voluntary tender option to America's most populous state. By combining fractional physical gold with flexible currency utility, the 1/4 Goldback denomination makes spending physical 24K gold practical for micro-purchases.
