About this product
The 1 Arizona Goldback highlights “Temperentia,” the Latin word for “Temperance.” This virtue honors the era of Mexican influence in Tubac after 1821, celebrating the harmonious blend of Indigenous, Spanish, and Mexican cultures that together shaped Arizona’s unique identity.
At the center of the artwork stands a graceful woman in traditional attire, positioned before the historic Mission San José de Tumacácori. Surrounding her are symbols of Arizona’s desert flora, fauna, and cultural emblems, representing balance, moderation, and unity between nature and spirit. Drawing inspiration from Galatians 5:22–23, the design evokes the passage: “The fruit of the Spirit is temperance.”
The obverse of the note features these intricate artistic and symbolic elements, while the reverse remains blank, subtly reflecting the front’s design to preserve the note’s radiant appearance and integrity.
- Contains 1/1000 troy ounce of 24K gold
- Part of the expanding Goldback Series, which includes Nevada, Utah, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Florida, and South Dakota issues
- Does not hold Federal legal tender status
Launched in 2019, the Goldback Program was created to make gold ownership practical, spendable, and accessible. Unlike traditional bullion, each Goldback note contains a precise amount of 24K gold physically embedded into a thin, flexible aurum layer. Designed to circulate as voluntary local tender, Goldbacks have become a grassroots form of inflation-resistant currency, promoting economic resilience and the real-world utility of precious metals.
With Bullion Hunters, you can instantly compare prices on Goldbacks across multiple trusted bullion dealers — ensuring you pay the lowest premium over gold’s spot value. The platform also lets you track live gold prices, monitor market trends, and shop securely from verified sellers. Whether you’re stacking for savings, collecting by state, or supporting local gold-based commerce, Bullion Hunters helps you find the best deals fast and confidently.
