Gold Canadian Maple Leaf Coins

ABOUT THE CANADIAN MAPLE LEAF GOLD COIN

The Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin stands as one of the most renowned coins among all Canadian Gold Coins ever released. First minted in 1979, it holds the distinction of being one of the oldest gold coins available on today's gold bullion market. During its initial releases until 1982, the coin was crafted from .999 fine gold. From 1983 onwards, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin transitioned to being made of 99.99% pure gold. Renowned for its consistent design and mintage history, the Gold Maple Leaf is considered the benchmark for other 24-karat gold bullion coins. Notably, Canadian Maple Leaf Coins are legal tender and are also issued in platinum, palladium, and silver versions. An exceptional and affordable addition to any investment portfolio, each coin's purity and weight are guaranteed by the Canadian Government.

MAIN SIZES OF THE CANADIAN GOLD MAPLE LEAF

Manufactured by the distinguished Royal Canadian Mint, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is available in various weight options. The most prominent and sought-after size is the 1 ounce Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, preferred by investors and collectors alike for its ease of handling, counting, and storage. Additionally, the 1 oz. Gold Maple Leaf Coin boasts the smallest premium among the different coin sizes. These Canadian coins also come in fractional sizes of 1/20 oz., 1/10 oz., ¼ oz., and ½ oz. Notably, the 1/15 oz. Gold Maple Leaf was produced only once in 1994 and was never reissued due to low demand. In 2015, the 1/25 oz. Gold Maple Leaf was released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Flag, with a limited mintage of just 7,500 coins. Larger sizes have also been produced, with the biggest being the 100 kg .99999 pure gold Maple Leaf issued in 2007 with a face value of $1 million, considered a remarkable special release. The RCM sells these coins individually, in tubes of 25 coins, or monster boxes containing 20 tubes of 25 coins each.

THE DESIGN OF THE GOLD MAPLE LEAF

Globally recognized and admired, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin features Canada's iconic sugar maple leaf emblem on the reverse side. Symbolizing pride and nationalism, the maple leaf design has remained virtually unchanged since its inception in 1979. The profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverse side of the coin. Renowned for its sharp milled edges and smooth fields, the Gold Maple Leaf is immensely popular among collectors and investors worldwide.
