The War in the Pacific (1941–1945) was a central theater of World War II that forged a lasting military and diplomatic alliance between Australia and the United States. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor and the rapid expansion of Japanese forces across Southeast Asia, Australian and Allied troops fought side-by-side in historic engagements across New Guinea, the Coral Sea, and Guadalcanal to secure regional peace. The Perth Mint produced this commemorative issue to celebrate the bravery of the military personnel who served in the Pacific theater, combining rich military heritage with investor-grade 24-karat gold purity.
