About this product
The First Proof Palladium Eagle, Boxed With Its Certificate
The 2018-W proof palladium American Eagle is a $25 U.S. Mint coin containing one troy ounce of .9995 fine palladium, struck with a mirror-like Proof finish at West Point, as the W mint mark shows. It was the first proof version of the Palladium Eagle, following the 2017 bullion release. This listing is the ungraded coin in its original mint box with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Weinman's Winged Liberty, Revived
Adolph Weinman's artwork shapes both sides. The obverse adapts his Winged Liberty portrait from the 1916 Mercury dime, showing Liberty in a winged Phrygian cap with LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and 2018. The reverse, also his design, shows an eagle on a rocky perch gripping a laurel branch, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, $25, 1 oz, .9995 Fine and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Proof coins are struck more than once on specially prepared blanks, which produces frosted design elements against reflective fields.

Comparing Offers on a Boxed Proof Eagle
A boxed proof Eagle is priced from its palladium content plus a collector premium for the finish, the year and the original packaging. Dealers set that premium on their own, and buyback prices vary too. Compare the published offers here, check the current palladium price, or browse more palladium bullion.
Frequently Asked Questions
What comes with the 2018-W proof Palladium Eagle?
This version comes in its original U.S. Mint presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity. Many collectors keep both with the coin, since the box and certificate document it as an original mint-issued proof.
How do dealers price a 2018-W proof Palladium Eagle?
The starting point is the spot price of palladium for one troy ounce. Dealers then add a premium for the proof finish, its status as the first proof issue and the packaging, and that premium differs from one dealer to the next.
