The Queen's Beasts series was first launched by the Royal Mint in 2016 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II becoming the world's longest-reigning monarch. During her coronation in 1953, ten "beasts" lined her path to Westminster Abbey, symbolizing the Queen's power and authority.
Over the past 5 years, the Royal Mint has released gold, silver, and platinum variations of each "beast", captivating collectors worldwide.
The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark. Surrounding the Queen's bust are various inscriptions, adding to the regal aesthetic of the coin. On the reverse, also designed by Jody Clark, all ten beasts are arranged in a protective circle around the Queen. This unique design makes the 2021 Great Britain 2 oz Silver Queen's Beasts Completer Coin the only bullion coin to feature all ten of the Queen's Beasts in one design.
