On the morning of April 20, 2023, a total solar eclipse passed over the town of Exmouth and Ningaloo Reef, a World Heritage site on the northwest coast of Western Australia. A total eclipse happens when the Sun, Moon and Earth line up, casting the Moon's shadow and an eerie twilight over the path of totality. The reverse shows the eclipse in the sky above a whale swimming through the reef. The obverse uses the memorial effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with 1952-2022 and the 2023 date.
