2023 Morgan Peace Reverse Proof Set: The First Pairing of Two Icons
The 2023 Morgan Peace reverse proof set brought two classic silver dollars together for the first time. Each coin contains .859 troy ounces of .999 fine silver and has a reverse proof finish, where the design is mirrored and the background is frosted, the opposite of a regular proof. Both were struck at the San Francisco Mint with a $1 face value, and the set was limited to 250,000.
Two Dollars, Two Chapters of History
This was the first Morgan and Peace two-coin set. The Morgan Dollar recalls an era of westward expansion and industrial growth, struck from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. The Peace Dollar marked America's emergence as a world power after World War I. Seeing both designs side by side, in matching reverse proof finishes, makes the contrast between the two eras easy to see. The set arrives in a box with a Certificate of Authenticity.
