A Design Born After World War I

The Peace dollar debuted in 1921 as a symbol of the nation's hope for peace after World War I. Anthony de Francisci designed it, placing Liberty on the obverse and a bald eagle perched on a rock with an olive branch on the reverse, above the word PEACE. The original series ran from 1921 to 1935. This 2024-S proof is a modern striking of that design, and First Strike means PCGS received it within its early-release window.
