About this product
Oklahoma’s highest-value Goldback honors Libertas—the Roman goddess of liberty—celebrating the state’s proud military legacy, Native heritage, and enduring devotion to freedom. Containing 1/10 troy ounce of .999 fine gold, this note blends powerful artistry with tangible value.
The design pays tribute to the 45th Infantry “Thunderbird” Division, with Libertas standing alongside advancing soldiers. Draped in a gown inspired by the Oklahoma State Seal and carrying a shield displaying the Five Civilized Tribes’ seals, she represents unity and sacrifice. Surrounding her, Sherman tanks, jeeps, and fighter planes evoke the WWII battlefront, while a soaring bald eagle and broken shackle symbolize liberation and justice. At her feet, a Star of David honors the division’s role in freeing Dachau. The inscription, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty” — Thomas Jefferson, anchors the scene’s meaning.
- Gold Content: 1/10 troy oz
- Purity: .999 fine gold (24k)
- Series: Alpha Series – Oklahoma Goldback
Why Goldbacks Stand Out
Goldbacks are the first spendable 24k gold currency—flexible, durable, and ideal for both barter and collecting. Unlike paper money, their intrinsic metal content preserves value over time, making them a practical hedge against inflation.
