Obverse: Features a left-sided bust of Lady Liberty encircled by 13 stars. Inscriptions include the phrase "LIBERTY" on her hairband and the year of mintage.
Reverse: Shows a bald eagle with a patriotic shield on its chest and its wings spread open. In its talons are a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination.
