Fifth in the Call of the Wild Series: The 2018 Golden Eagle
The 2018 1 oz Golden Eagle gold coin is a Royal Canadian Mint bullion coin struck from one troy ounce of .99999 fine gold, in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, with a face value of 200 Canadian dollars. It is the fifth release in the Call of the Wild series. This listing is for the coin without its original assay card, which is the main difference from assay-packaged examples.
From Howling Wolf to Golden Eagle
Introduced in 2014, Call of the Wild features animals of the Canadian wilderness. The Howling Wolf came first, followed by the Growling Cougar, Roaring Grizzly and Elk, before the series turned to the sky with the Golden Eagle. The species takes its name from the golden feathers on its head and neck. A laser micro-engraved maple leaf security mark in the field shows the numeral 18 under magnification, matching the year. The obverse carries Queen Elizabeth II with her name, the face value and the date.

Frequently Asked Questions
What number is the Golden Eagle in the Call of the Wild series?
The Golden Eagle is the fifth release. The Royal Canadian Mint began the series in 2014 with the Howling Wolf, followed by the Growling Cougar, Roaring Grizzly and Elk before the 2018 Golden Eagle.
Does a missing assay card change the price of the Golden Eagle coin?
It can. Every dealer starts from the spot price of one ounce of gold and adds a premium, and packaging is one factor in that premium. Since it varies by dealer and quantity, compare published prices for assay and no-assay versions.
