The Perth Mint introduced its Silver Koala in 2007 as a 1 oz coin of .9999 fine silver, and the series has continued with a fresh koala image each year. For 2019, the koala sits on top of a eucalyptus, a genus that includes the tallest flowering plant on Earth. The reverse is inscribed AUSTRALIAN KOALA, 2019, 1oz and 9999 SILVER. The obverse displays Jody Clark's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA and 1 DOLLAR.
