The Mouse That Opened the Perth Mint's Third Lunar Series

The 2020 1 oz Gold Lunar Mouse is a Brilliant Uncirculated coin from the Perth Mint containing one troy ounce of .9999 fine gold, with a $100 AUD face value. It arrives in a protective capsule. As the first release in the Perth Mint's Lunar Series III, it celebrates the Year of the Mouse, also called the Year of the Rat.

Wheat Stalks and a Hidden Letter

The reverse shows a mouse climbing stalks of wheat, with MOUSE 2020, the Chinese character for mouse and the Perth Mint's P mint mark. A micro-engraved letter is hidden in the design as a security feature, visible only under magnification. The obverse carries Jody Clark's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown, with ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA and the weight, purity and denomination. The 1 oz gold version has a listed mintage of 30,000.
