The 2024 1 oz platinum Lunar Dragon is a Perth Mint coin struck from one troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, with a $100 AUD face value. It marks the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese lunar calendar. A P125 mint mark celebrating the Perth Mint's 125th anniversary and a micro-engraved security letter set the 2024 issue apart.

Dragon, Waves and a Memorial Obverse

The reverse shows an intricate dragon among waves and fog, with the Chinese character for dragon, the inscription DRAGON 2024 and the P125 mark. The obverse uses Jody Clark's memorial effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with the dates 1952-2022, along with the weight, purity and denomination. In the lunar calendar each year is linked to a zodiac animal, and the dragon is associated with strength and good fortune. Each coin sits in a protective acrylic capsule.
