The Baring Ruby Necklace Recreated for Queen Elizabeth II's Centenary
The 2026 Crown Jewels Queen Elizabeth II coin is a Royal Canadian Mint Proof collector issue struck from one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, with a face value of 20 Canadian dollars. It marks 100 years since the Queen's birth and is the third release in the Crown Jewels series. Twenty ruby-toned and 27 white crystals are set into the design, and the mintage is limited to 6,000.
A Royal Jewel With a Canadian Connection
The reverse recreates the Baring Ruby Necklace, a piece the Queen acquired in 1964 and wore at the opening of Canada's Parliament in Ottawa in 1977, when its red rubies echoed Canada's national colors. Crystals sit in .925 sterling silver mountings plated with rhodium, arranged to trace the necklace and its three-pendant centerpiece. Engraved filigree scrollwork around them combines the maple leaf with the Tudor rose. The obverse carries an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination, and each coin comes in a black clamshell box.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the 2026 Crown Jewels coin commemorate?
It marks the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's birth. The reverse recreates the Baring Ruby Necklace she wore in Ottawa in 1977, using ruby-toned and white crystals in rhodium-plated sterling silver mountings.
How do dealers price the Crown Jewels Queen Elizabeth II silver coin?
They start from the spot value of one ounce of silver and add a premium for the Proof finish, crystal settings, packaging and limited mintage. Because premiums vary by seller, comparing published prices side by side is helpful.
