Around her waist, a “1905” tool belt signifies the pivotal year that reshaped Oklahoma’s economy.

Goldbacks were introduced in 2019 as the world’s first physical, spendable voluntary currency made with real 24-karat gold. Using proprietary vacuum deposition technology, Valaurum permanently layers gold into a flexible polymer, creating durable notes in fractional denominations. Originally launched in Utah, Goldbacks quickly expanded to multiple states—including Nevada, Wyoming, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Florida, and Oklahoma—where they are voluntarily accepted for local transactions.
Their portability, divisibility, and intrinsic value make them ideal for barter, everyday trade, and gradual gold accumulation, offering a practical alternative to traditional bullion. Each state’s design series celebrates regional virtues, history, and cultural heritage.
