The 2027 10 oz Gold Lunar Goat is a large Brilliant Uncirculated coin from the Perth Mint containing ten troy ounces of .9999 fine gold, with a $1,000 AUD face value. It celebrates the Year of the Goat, the eighth sign of the Chinese zodiac, and carries Dan Thorne's effigy of King Charles III on the obverse.
A Goat on the Mountain Plain
The reverse shows a goat standing on a mountain plain, with rugged ground and a lone tree in the distance. The design includes the Chinese character for goat, GOAT 2027 and the Perth Mint's P mint mark, and a micro-engraved letter is hidden in the artwork as a security feature. In Chinese tradition the Goat is associated with creativity, gentleness and quiet determination. At ten ounces, the coin offers a broad canvas for the landscape design.
