About this product

Carrying 1/20 troy ounce of .999 fine gold, this highest-denomination Oklahoma Goldback combines striking visual artistry with practical gold-backed value. Flexible, durable, and precision-made, it represents both a collectible treasure and a functional medium of exchange within participating communities. Virtue takes center stage in the form of Vigilantia—Vigilance—depicted kneeling in the tall prairie grass, calm and unyielding as a massive tornado twists across the horizon. This imagery honors Oklahoma’s resilience and its unmatched leadership in severe weather research and preparedness.

Behind her, a Doppler on Wheels (DOW) unit, a mobile mesonet vehicle, and weather balloon pay homage to the science that helps protect lives from nature’s fury. Her equipment case bears her name, an emblem of steadfast watchfulness.

In Oklahoma, tornadoes are not rare—they average more than sixty each year. Yet in the aftermath of each storm, communities stand together, rebuilding with grit and compassion. The note’s inscription: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.”

Product Features:
  • Gold Content: 1/20 troy oz
  • Purity: .999 fine gold (24k)
  • Security Features: UV-reactive ink, microprinting, serialized
  • Obverse: Features a meteorological expert using advanced equipment to track tornadoes in Oklahoma
  • Reverse: Exhibits a reverse image of the front illustration, serving as an intricate security feature
Why Goldbacks Matter

Goldbacks are the world’s first spendable, voluntary gold currency—each containing a precise layer of 24-karat gold sealed within a polymer note. Unlike traditional bullion, they are easily divisible and well-suited for barter or microtransactions, making them both a practical hedge and a piece of functional art.
